VARIOUS Capitol Records 1942-2002 (2002 US limited edition 96-track 6-CD Retrospective box set featuring a collection of songs by various artists that have recorded for the Capitol label. 2002 marked the 60th anniversary of the label which issued its first releases in the summer of 1942 in the 78 shellac format. Each decade of recordings are represented on their own disc which is 24-bit digitally remastered, including recordings by The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, The Beach Boys, Frank Sinatra, Tina Turner, Duran Duran, Coldplay, Kylie Minogue and much much more. Each disc comes in their own digipak sleeve with built in booklet, featuring never before seen compiled track annotations, photos & essays. All housed in a special 10¾" x 10½" x 2½" collector's box with a cloth bound 144-page collectors photo book. This fantastic set also comes with a VERY limited highly detailed 4" tall metal model replica of the Capitol Records Building in Los Angeles - stunning set and rarely found with the model replica!)
