JIMI HENDRIX Band Of Gypsys (1970 first UK issue 6-track stereo vinyl LP on the black & silver Track label, housed in the withdrawn matt 'puppet' sleeve with pinched spine. The earliest copies of Band of Gypsys depicted puppets of Hendrix, Brian Jones, Bob Dylan & English DJ John Peel, found here. Reportedly Peel complained & the cover was withdrawn & replaced with a live photo of Hendrix! See 'More Info' for condition details...)

Condition

The withdrawn cover grades VG with nothing that spoils this original design, which is now very collectable. Due to the matte finish, there is a little general edge/corner wear and only minimal spine rubbing, with just some light creasing near the corners/towards the opening edge. There is a small sticker tear to the top left corner, with a few indendations to the reverse [most likely thanks to being kept near Sticky Fingers!] and a name annotation to the bottom which has been partially erased.

The vinyl is clean & grades EX. There is a vintage shop sticker to one label [Chris' of Gravesend!] with no writing or tears to the labels. The matrices in the run-outs are machine stamped A1/B1. The vinyl itself shows very little sign of play indeed. A really nice example.
