HAWKWIND Live At The Chicago Auditorium, March 21, 1974 (Fantastic 1997 UK limited edition 16-track double CD featuring the '1999 Party' on their US Tour that year, complete with fold out poster, jewel case picture sleeve in outer card box. There's not a lot to say about this release, other than it contains classic line up Hawks in a superbly recorded concert that sends shivers down my spine every time I hear it. With Hall Of The Mountain Grill tracks just beginning to enter the set, this is Hawkwind firing on all six. With Dave Brock's relentless Rhythm & Lemmy's thunderous bass over Simon Kings drums, Nik Turner doing his thing with Moorcock poems and Sax, Del Dettmar still present and Simon House just beginning, you can almost see Stacia and the Liquid Len light show.
