This legendary album is far from 'easy listening' but is none the less an essential 'must have' in any collection. Mr Van Vliet & his band took the conventional ideas about music & composition & turned them completely on their heads to create an album which still, to this day, stands as one of the benchmark recordings of its kind.

This copy has the ORIGINAL Straight catalogue numbers on both sleeve & labels, meaning that it was the first release in 1969 before changing to the more common Reprise pressing.
Unlike the US pressing, the sides are labelled [& play] in order, rather than the 1/4, 2/3 arrangement on the US vinyl.

Condition :-

The matte gatefold sleeve [VG-] shows signs of obvious print fade around the edges [the spine has turned from red to a white/light pink], some scuffing & ring wear, but there is no writing or tears & all text remains clearly legible.

Both vinyl discs grade VG- with light paper hairlines & scuff marks which have little effect on play. We have conservatively graded this copy GOOD overall.

You either love or hate Trout Mask, there is no inbetween. This is a very affordable UK original for those that do!
