PINK FLOYD The Dark Side Of The Moon (WITHDRAWN 1973 Japanese-only promotional sample 10-track vinyl LP, with custom black on white labels pressed by Toshiba EMI. Comes housed in a fully silk-laminated gatefold sleeve -- EXCLUSIVE TO THIS PROMO ISSUE -- with REVERSED artwork, depicting the large prism image on the front & small image on the back. This mispress was quickly withdrawn & only a few sample copies are known to exist. Comes complete with the 32-page full colour booklet, postcard, both fold-out posters & the original '¥2,000' obi-strip. NOTE: we are also including a second Japanese stock copy issue vinyl LP [EOP-80778] with the solid prism label & '¥2,200' obi-strip, for you to compare the mispressed sleeve against this version. Documented as one of the rarest worldwide Pink Floyd LPs, the withdrawn picture sleeve easily grades Excellent with very little signs of wear to the silk laminate. The original ¥2,000' obi-strip shows minimal evidence of its age other than a tiny 0.5cm tear to the bottom right edge. All inserts remain near mint & unused. The white labels are unblemished & the vinyl is stunning near 'as new'. As nice as it gets!

We are including the second Odeon LP for you to compare the sleeve. This is the 1973 Japanese 10-track LP with 'solid blue' triangle labels & first issue manufactured by 'Toshiba Musical Industries' perimeter text, & comes with the second variant '¥2,200' obi-strip. The sleeve, obi & vinyl for this second LP are in Excellent condition with few signs of wear or play.

There are a number of comparisons to draw between the sleeves, including spine colour & matte vs laminate finish, but most importantly the design. As with the original UK first issues, the gatefold sleeve opens to the right, with the left edge sealed on both. These rare specimens should keep a keen Pink Floyd collector happy for days on end!
