VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR Three Japanese Card Sleeve Remasters in Exclusive Disk Union Box (Rare 2008 Japanese only CD box set of the classic albums 'Godbluff' & 'Still Life' with the Peter Hammill solo album 'Fool's Mate', which were released in Japan with consecutive catalogue numbers. Each album is in a card sleeve version of the original LP artwork, complete with scaled down replica lyric inner for Godbluff. Each of the CDs have a fold out insert with the original sleeve notes and lyrics in both English & Japanese, complete with obi-strips. To promote this release, Disk Union in Japan produced an exclusive hardshell picture box with the Still Life artwork on one side and the Fool's Mate artwork on the other, that was only available to purchasers of all three. Like me, you are probably wondering how Fool's Mate crept in there, but they are consecutively numbered releases so was a quite deliberate move. There are not enough words to describe just how good these albums are and the exclusive box just makes it all the more special. There is probably enough space in the box to fit more of the card sleeve releases, should you so desire, but the box is extremely difficult to come by over five years later. The box and all contents are pristine and contain the 2005 remasters, which sound marvellous, and some extra tracks that are interesting but not quite of the same sound quality.
