THE NERVES One Way Ticket (2008 US exclusive 20-track
remastered CD album - at long last, the legendary Nerves finally get
an official, non-bootleg career retrospective longplayer! Comprised of
all available high quality recordings from 1976-1979, this set
demonstrates just how important the group were, taking up the power
pop reins from Big Star, The Raspberries and Flamin' Groovies.
Formed in 1975 by guitarist Jack Lee, bassist Peter Case, and
drummer Paul Collins, the Nervesare one of the most influential
garage/punk pop outfits to come out of the mid-70's LA scene, and
certainly one of the least documented... until now. Mostly remembered
for their classic 'Hanging On The Telephone', a Jack Lee composition
which has been covered over the years by a myriad of artists, the
Nerves were above all a high energy rock'n'roll band with all three
members composing and singing. Playing fast, ear-catching garage
pop songs, sometimes wearing matching suits, the trio had more than
a bit of the stripped down street energy of LA's early punk movement.
Includes their 1976 self-released EP alongside rare live and demo
recordings [2 of which are exclusive to this format], plus
material from associated bands The Plimsouls and Breakaways,
presented in digipak sleeve with rare photos and liner notes from
Peter Case)

Californian Powerpop 1976 US wide centred 7" EP, picture
sleeve with white rear panel and black text. Opening with the
original version of 'Hanging On The Telephone'
written by Jack Lee of The Nerves, two years before Lee

have his phone cut off, the original record was selling so
badly!]. Also features the equally vital tracks, When You Find
Out, Give Me Some Time & Working Too Hard. The delicate
picture sleeve grades Excellent, just some minor ring wear
and retains its original HMV price sticker [just £1.50!], the
