JIMI HENDRIX Band Of Gypsys (1970 first UK issue 6-track stereo LP on the black & silver Track label, housed in the withdrawn matt 'puppet' sleeve with pinched spine. The earliest copies of Band of Gypsys depicted puppets of Hendrix, Brian Jones, Bob Dylan & English DJ John Peel, found here. Reportedly Peel complained & the cover was withdrawn & replaced with a live photo of Hendrix! See 'More Info' for condition details...)

Condition

The cover grades VG with scuffing to the edges, some light fading, a little creasing and general shelfwear although not greatly upsetting this rare design. There is also a price of 39/11 (bargain!) handwritten in the top left corner of the sleeve.

The vinyl is in VG condition, with spindle wear around the centre hole & a few scuffs/scratches to the vinyl surface. Playbackbut reveals no major deterioration in sound quality (just the odd bit of a background noise in the quiet places) but thanks to the quality of British vinyl from this period Hendrix still rings out loud and clear!

Although not mint, this is still a worthy addition to any Hendrix collection & essential first press too!
