This USA only single My Diary / Utee - on 7" vinyl single was written by
My Diary - (Arthur Lee) with Utee - (Rosa Lee Brooks, Billy Revis)

Produced by : Billy Revis and release 1965 on Revis Records with Catalog number: 1013

As previously stated this single is almost mythical amongst Hendrix collectors, and this is even rarer as a promotional copy. Regarded as being the first appearance of Hendrix on vinyl, and also the first known Hendrix recording session.. It's importance for collectors can't be over stated - It's BIG!!

Hendrix's appearance on the single has been confirmed by Arthur Lee of Love (who composed "My Diary") and Rosa Lee Brooks, who have both stated that he played guitar on the session. Arthur Lee says that he met Jimi Hendrix when Billy Revis recommended him as someone who could play in the style of Curtis Mayfield.

My Diary is the first Arthur Lee composition that came near to being a hit. It was written for the R&B singer Rosa Lee Brooks, who performed and recorded it. This recording included Jimi on electric guitar. Lee had seen Jimi as a session man backing up the Isley Brothers


Rosa Lee still lives and performs in Los Angeles. According to her not only did Hendrix play on "My Diary" and "Utee", in addition they also had a relationship during Hendrix's stay in Los Angeles.


CONDITION

Considering the incredibly rare nature of this single, to ever find a copy is unexpected and though this isn't mint condition we can grade it easily as excellent with only minor hairline scratches [which don't affect play] with no jumps or static pops evident.

An investement grade item with NO need to ever upgrade [And to be honest you'll probably never get the chance to]
