Tracklisting: The legendary 1994 movie The Shawshank Redemption was written and directed by Frank Darabont, based on a 1982 novella by Stephen King. The movie tells the story of two convicts who, over the course of several years, form a friendship, seeking consolation and, eventually, redemption through basic compassion.
Upon its release, The Shawshank Redemption was nominated for seven Academy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. A central scene in the film features the soprano "Letter Duet" ("Canzonetta sull'aria") from Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro", which is included on the soundtrack.
