A FEW OF THE MOST RECENT ITEMS WE WANT...
| PINK FLOYD The Dark Side Of The Moon (Ultra rare 1973 UK
first pressing 10-track vinyl LP with SOLID PRISM
labels with silver lettering, Gramophone Co. perimeter text,
black poly lined inner, two stickers & two posters. This has
A2/B2 matrices but doesn't have the well known skip during
the song Money. This gatefold picture sleeve differs from
later issues in that it displays a slight green colour tinge
[more visable on the inside gatefold], unlike the jet black
print of lat #Top 500 Greatest Albums Of All Timeerissues, also has the circular hype sticker
attached to the front. Please see 'more info' for this must own
TAS listed masterpiece... SHVL804)
Tracklisting: The iconic gatefold matte picture sleeve is one of three early variants with a single side opening, the front section is sealed with a fold over flap that is glued inside the opening. Printed with blue credit text on the inside left panel with "Printed and made by Garrod and Lofthouse Ltd."
This example displays some light general wear although nothing particularly severe. The title sticker is attached to the top right corner.
The inner sleeve is a die-cut black poly-lined inner with patent numbers and "Made in Great Britain" in silver at the bottom. Aside from a small tear to the opening edge, it remains unsplit & intact.
The two stickers are unused, and show littlee creasing where they were once caught in the middle of the gatefold [a common complaint!]. They can be described as thus:
A) A brown/dark blue/yellow/green self-adhesive sticker with Dark Side of the Moon graphics. Matte. The backing paper is white with "FasPrint Removable R-100" on the paper. There is no catalog number on the sticker.
B) Yellow graphics sticker: A yellow/sky blue/green self-adhesive sticker with Dark Side of the Moon graphics. Matte. The backing paper has wavy serated lines and is printed "FasPrint Removable R-100".
The two posters remains in a really nice condition and have never been displayed and stored within the sleeve. They can be described as such:
A) Pyramid Poster: Glossy. There is no catalog number on the poster.
B) Group Poster: A six-pane group shot poster in landscape style with "SHVL 804" in the bottom right corner. Glossy.
The poster artwork has lost none of its impact with them both in an unused condition. The artwork is unblemished & unfaded. The plain white sides show minimal signs of age.
The labels are the all important black label with solid light blue triangle & 'Gramophone Co Ltd' perimeter print. There is no writing or paper loss, and shows only a few very light spindle marks by the centre hole.
The matrices in the run-outs are machine stamped & end A2/B2.
This is a nice one owner example. The vinyl is super clean both sides with very little wear to the grooves or paper wear detectable. These first pressings are obviously highly desirable, amongst the reasons for this is that the first batch press is 'TAS' listed, meaning it comes with high praise & distinction by Harry Pearson from The Absolute Sound. We have play tested the whole album, and can confirm this sounds amazing. Very clean minimal crackles or pops, and the silents sections between the songs are just that, silent.
A fantastic example, highly recommended.

Tracklisting: Condition
White is not the best of colours for a sleeve, especially over fifty years on.
The sleeve shows a little light edge scuffing and moderate shelfwear. It retains a nice bright 'off-white' Ivory colour, not the dark cream or orange usually found. There is a 1" scuff to the front and a 4" scratch to the reverse It is numbered '0029617'. Overall, it is an acceptable & sturdy example.
The card photo portraits and poster are free of pin holes, despite spots of foxing here or there, they show only light creasing. The orginal black die-cut inners are present with obvious wear/tearing.
The vinyl has obviously been played and shows light signs of having been so. There is tape residue to the second side labels from a previous name label. A certain amount of background noise should be expected in quieter passages and between tracks.
The Matrices all end -1.
OK, this is a fair way from Mint but it remains respectable for a first press Mono copy of this album, which sold in far fewer numbers than the stereo release.
An opportunity to complete your collection at an advantageous price.
