ROLLING STONES Beast Of Burden (Rare 1978 US wide centred STOCK COPY 7" vinyl single, also including When The Whip Comes Down, housed in the legendary withdrawn picture sleeve depicting a lion sitting on a damsel in distress [Maureen O'Sullivan ?]. This single was withdrawn and all the picture sleeves scrapped soon after the promo copies began to be sent out as some sensitive souls in the US felt that the image displayed depicted bestiality [!]. Coming hot on the heels of the threat of legal action from the celebrities depicted on the original 'Some Girls' LP cover, I suppose the band were not prepared to take the chance on yet more legal bills & decided to scrap the sleeve instead. Very few escaped into the wild and this has since become second only to the 'Street Fighting Man' sleeve in terms of rarity value. This copy here is in perfect condition, with just the tiniest scuffing to the bottom edge & free from any creasing, writing, stains or splits. The 7" itself is also in near 'as new' condition, with both it & the sleeve being stored safely away for the last thirty years waiting to be found. Here it is. Only two thousand copies of these were made, issued exclusively toBertelsmann Club Members from 1965 until being withdrawn from sale in December 1967. The sleeve is free from writing or tears & the colours remain fantastic, with a little corner creasing from ring wear easily forgiveable after half a centurylocked away in private archives. ROLLING STONES Beggars Banquet (Rare 1968 Israeli 10-track stereo LP on a red & silver Pax ['Peace' in Latin] label, housed in a single pocket title sleeve variant with 'Product Of Symphonia Ltd. Tel-Aviv' print on the back. Decca prohibited use of their logo in Israel at the time due to the Arab boycott, therefore, in order for Decca product to come out in that country, the company had to create a new label. The delicate sleeve is Very Good with some mild shelf wear & weathering to be expected [small sticker mark top right] & the vinyl is Near Mint with few signs of play ISK1044)
