HAZE Haze (Exceptionally Rare 1974 UK-only Private Press 23-track
LP, one of just 99 copies made for tax avoidance, presented
by second, fifth & sixth year pupils & their teachers from the Hayes
School in Bromley. These were students ofthe Sixties, however, &
there is a wonderful Acid Folk tinge to the whole record. There are
semi-groovy high school tunes aplenty, with female duel-vocals, covers
of songs by The Beatles, a bizarre poetry reading of Chicago's 'Does
Anybody ReallyKnow What Time It Is?' & two wigged-out & fuzzed-up
Psych-improv tracks called 'Instant' & 'Free Coffee'! Members of the
Hayes school descended onto sunny Richmond Park for a day in order
to raise funds for this one-off LP, & so the record sports unique colour
picture labels & a glorious full colour gatefold picture sleeve, usually
reserved for major label acts, complete with a special 'thank you'
insert. The cover grades VG+ with some light ring wear scuffing & the
vinyl appears Near Mint. A lovely one owner copy, unlikely to be seen
again - If you collect private pressings or Hans Pokora type
recommendations, do not miss this)
