Tracklisting & More Information

The Beatles' Story On Capitol Records - Part One: The Singles & Part Two: The Albums
Part 1 examines 45 rpm singles from 1964's "I Want To Hold Your Hand" to 1968's "Lady Madonna" (the last release on the label before launching Apple Records). Over the 226 pages of the book, we are shown why Capitol agreed to release their records in the US after rejecting the first four British hits; a breakdown of each single release with explanations and photographs of each issued label and picture sleeve variation, including Capitol's novelty singles, Canadian releases, as well as counterfeit records.
Part 2 of this set focuses on the LPs released under the Capitol label, containing detailed information from "Meet The Beatles!" to "Magical Mystery Tour", with particular interest in the controversial butcher cover and “Sgt. Pepper.” Also includes sections on albums released in Canada and Mexico, as well as chapters on where and how the records and sleeves were made and the special mixes appearing on Capitol albums. Over the 264 pages, the reader is presented with over 700 color photos throughout, including all album covers, label variations, trade advertisements, posters and point of purchase displays.
The Beatles On Apple Records
This 310-page tome covers the records released by the band on their very own Apple label in America, starting with Hey Jude and The White Album in 1968, all the way through to Anthology and the incredibly popular Beatles 1 hits collection released in at the turn of the Millenium. Features over 800 color photos, including all album covers, label variations, trade ads, posters and point of purchase dispays.
The Beatles Are Coming!
Concerning itself with 1963 and the first two months of 1964, this volume recounts the Beatles' recording sessions during that period, the fight between Capitol Records and Vee-Jay over the rights to release the group's early recordings, and the hysterical coverage of the band's first visit to the US. The hefty 246 page hardback includes more than 400 record jackets, advertisements, consumer and trade magazine articles, concert photos, and record labels.
The Beatles Solo On Apple Records
This book details the solo records released by John, Paul, George and Ringo on their own Apple label in America, starting with the December, 1968, release of George’s "Wonderwall Music" album and ending with the December, 1975, release of George’s single "This Guitar (Can’t Keep From Crying)." All solo projects are covered, including the albums and singles released by John & Yoko and Paul McCartney & Wings. The 358 pages are filled with over 900 images (all in full color or original black & white) and in-depth text.
The Beatles Swan Song
This book is the final installment of Spizer's books on the Beatles American records. Over it's 280 pages, it details the stories behind the records released by Swan, United Artists, Decca, MGM, Atco and Polydor. It also includes information on the theme albums issued by Capitol Records in the 70s and 80s such as Rock 'N' Roll Music and Love Songs, as well as The Beatles At The Hollywood Bowl, Rarities and the unreleased Sessions LP.
