9th National Jazz & Blues festival 1969

PINK FLOYD 9th National Jazz & Blues festival 1969 (Superb official programme for the Festival held August 1969 at the Plumpton Race Track in East Sussex. Another typically chaotic piece of 1960's organization with power cuts & water shortages coupled with blisteringly hot weather. As one of the headliners Floyd were due to play Friday evening but this slipped to the early hours of saturday morning when everyone was asleep. Also on the bill were The Who & King Crimson plus a dazzlingline up that would cost the budget of a small country to book nowadays) **See more info for condition & background**

Tracklisting & More Information

In 1969 the Festival relocated yet again and in fact had trouble finding a new home . Plans were made to move to West Drayton in Middlesex but the local council refused permission to use the site, so the venue was hurriedly changed to East Sussex This did not help with setting up the stage or equipment and there were power problems on the opening night during Soft Machine's set This was further compounded by another break of over an hour due to lack of power , which led to Pink Floyd playing their set in the early hours of Saturday morning when a good part of the audience had gone to sleep. The weather was HOT, in fact the festival ran out of water at one stage. Another great piece of Floyd memorabillia.

Condition

The overall condition is amazing especially considering it is over 37 years old and to have survived the day itself and 3 decades of house moving is in itself an astonishing achievement. This is further enhanced by the fact that the outer cover is in excellent to near mint condition with only minor discolouration evident and no tears creases or wear visible. Packedwith biographies and photographs, all of which retain their original crispness and sheen. A true delight to hold - and it could be yours!!
