Tracklisting & More Information

The Deutshe Grammophon company in Germany licensed four Beatles/Sheridan tracks to Metro-Goldwyn-Meyer and the other four to Atlantic Records. Atlantic issued its Sheridan/Beatles tracks on an Atco LP. It later renamed and reissued the LP (minus two non-Beatles songs) on the Clarion label.

The AMAZING BEATLES album is another release of the Tony Sheridan material that has appeared on half a dozen albums by various record labels. 'The Beatles on Record' book published by Simon and Schuster in 1982 says of this album 'Two years and 2 weeks after Atco originally released the AIN'T SHE SWEET album, a subsidiary label, Clarion, reissued the same recording. Changes in cover, title, and order of songs were made in a clear effort once more to induce unsuspecting Beatles fans into falling for the album. Issues just 2 months after MGM/Metro has attempted the same things, fortunately this record also failed to sell very well.Clarion 601 released October 17 1966

Because the demand for the album was low in 1966 many of the original few thousand copies pressed were destroyed. The majority of these albums were manufactured in mono since stereo had not fully taken hold on the American record buying public in '66, the ratio of stereo to mono albums could be higher than 1 stereo to 100 mono copies, making find a stereo copy exceptionally hard!

The condition of the vinyl is superb with little evidence of play, having retained it's original shine. The heavyweight vinyl of the 60's audibly hides the handful of light surface marks, probably caused by a non-poly lined inner bag.

The pasted picture sleeve has some VERY minor scuffing/ringwear to the bottom on the front of the sleeve but none of the edges are damaged as is so common with the thick card sleeves of this age. The print on the spine is unblemished - hard to find in such amazing condition!)
