PRETTY THINGS The Pretty Things (1965 UK first pressing 12-track mono LP on the 'rough' textured black and silver Fontana label. Their legendary debut attempting [and succeeding] to outdo The Stones with gritty versions of Bo Diddley songs such as Road Runner recorded way up into the red, front laminated FLIPBACK picture sleeve with pinched spine. The sleeve shows minor wear with a little laminate lift and light discoloration to the reverse; the laminate doesn't cover the top flipack, however fully covers the front of the sleeve. The labels show only very light spindlewear and despite the vinyl displaying a few light surface scuffs on play testing this copy sailed through as a VG+/EX grade with ease only revealing a little background noise at one or two quiet stages with no nasty pops or clicks and nice clarity throughout - overall extremely solid VG+/VG example making for a superb starter copy of this amazing mono debut, enhanced by its above grade disc and with the rarer flipback sleeve variant, still in great condition and creeping close to its 50th birthday!
