A FEW OF THE MOST RECENT ITEMS WE WANT...

BOB DYLAN John Wesley Harding (Very Rare 1968 US first issue 12-track mono vinyl LP on the 'two eye' Columbia label with 'Mono' in white, the last Dylan album to be released in mono no less, pasted picture sleeve. This collector's copy is still in the original open shrink. See 'more info' for further details... CL2804)

Tracklisting: Background: For Bob Dylan, it had been quite a year. After his motorcycle accident prevented his hectic schedule of touring & recording continuing at the same pace as it had been, it was to be mostly a year of recuperation. Once becoming fit again to work, he travelled to Nashville on October 17, 1967, to begin work on John Wesley Harding. In place of a large ensemble, the sessions featured just Charlie McCoy on bass, Pete Drake on pedal steel, Kenny Buttrey on drums and Dylan on guitar, piano and harmonica. This was the last of Dylan's albums to be released in true Mono, rather than just a fold down from the Stereo mixes. The labels have the final mono design used by Columbia with "MONO" at bottom centre in white without the "360º SOUND"/arrows logos on either side. The album was released officially on 27th December 1967, but didn't actually arrive in stores until January 1968. Condition: The sleeve is Near Mint with no deletion cuts & is still in the original open shrink with the breather holes. The labels are clear & bright, with some spindle marks by the centre hole to show play & no writing, stickers or tears. The vinyl grades VG+ & displays a few surface hairlines & the odd faint mark. The vinyl is impressively clean & very shiny from new. On a mono playback setting, these solid mid sixties pressing eliminate any surface issues & these hairlines are primarily cosmetic, having no effect on play. Although the disc has obviously been played on both sides, it certainly hasn't been played to excess and has been played on good equipment. Sonically, it scores. There is little more to tell you about this copy, although as a US Mono of this album it is particularly rare. There was little call for Mono LPs outside of AM Radio Stations by this time, with most of the general population of the United States having made the switch to Stereo years before. This is why this was the last Dylan album released in true Mono. A very nice collector's copy of this extremely hard to find release ! 01. John Wesley Harding 02. As I Went Out One Morning 03. I Dreamed I Saw St. Augustine 04. All Along The Watchtower 05. The Ballad Of Frankie Lee And Judas Priest 06. Drifter’s Escape 07. Dear Landlord 08. I Am A Lonesome Hobo 09. I Pity The Poor Immigrant 10. The Wicked Messenger 11. Down Along The Cove 12. I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight
BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN Badlands (Super rare CBS wide-centred 7" single made in Holland for export to France, widely believed to be 1 of just 300 copies created for this purpose, and second in rarity only to the Point Blank single. The unique coupling has Candy's Room on the B side. This top example was sent direct to RTL Radio in Paris and has remained stored in their vast library archive until now. The orange CBS centre label is date-stamped OCT. 1978 and the back cover is stamped DISCO RTL PARIS. Impeccable provenance, this is the first time this particular copy has ever been offered for sale. The picture sleeve remains in superb condition with clear print and crisp, bright colours. Unrepeatable!)

Tracklisting: 1. Badlands 2. Candy's Room
NEIL YOUNG Tonight's The Night (1975 Japanese 12-track vinyl LP on the tan steamboat label manufactured by Warner-Pioneer, housed in a textured gatefold picture sleeve with 4-page Japanese / lyric inner and an additional fold-out insert. The sleeve remains in fantastic condition with just a hint of foxing to the inside and the vinyl appears in beautiful barely played condition P-8556R)

Tracklisting: 1. Tonight's The Night 2. Speakin' Out 3. World On A String 4. Borrowed Tune 5. Come On Baby/Let's Go Downtwon 6. Mellow My Mind 7. Roll Another Number (For The Road) 8. Albuquerque 9. New Mama 10. Lookout Joe 11. Tired Eyes 12. Tonight's The Night - Part II
RUTS In A Rut (Very Rare Debut January 1979 UK first press 7" single, credited just to 'Ruts' [before the 'RUT1' release] with hand scratched '6206/6207' Lyntone matrices in the run-outs & the Misty In Roots 'People Unite' label title incircular black rim. Reportedly only 1000 copies were made, with half of them sold to Rough Trade & the other half stashed or pulped. Also features 'H-Eyes', plain white die-cut sleeve. The vinyl grades VG with some light paper hairline scuffs &the odd small scratch near the beginning of the A-side not upsetting play. Rarely ever seen on the market, this is our first example SJP795)
