JEFF SIMMONS Lucille Has Messed My Mind Up (1970 UK 10-track stereo LP, recorded after Jeff had left 'that comedy group' who shall remain nameless. Most copies of this lost classic that turn up are US, as what few sold at the time mostly soldin the States, so to find a UK copy is rare indeed. I think that everybody knows of Frank Zappa's involvement with this recording, having written the title track & co-written 'Wonderful Wino', producing [as 'La Marr Bruister'], as well as guesting on guitar on the title track & 'Raye'. Ian Underwood is also present on Saxophone duties. Sadly the sleeve has fallen foul to obvious wear & tear with age. There is a tape repair at the bottom, heavy scuffing & the like. The vinyl is nice & clean however, & plays superb, despite obvious paper scuffs - hard to find now in any shape! STS1057)
