FRED MCDOWELL Mississippi Delta Blues (Hard to find 1964 US first issue 13-track mono vinyl LP on the black & red Arhoolie label with the large guitar logo, housed in a back pasted card picture sleeve. Wow! what a slice of musical history, prior to this release McDowells recordings had previously only been featured on Alan Lomax LP compilations,making this his first official release. It's raw Delta Blues featuring some astonishingly brilliant performances, recorded in the field by Chris Strachwitz in 1964. The sleeve shows only light wear and the vinyl easily grades as Excellent andretains a wonderful deep sheen - a must for any blues enthusiast F1021)
