 | LED ZEPPELIN Led Zeppelin II (Rare 1969 UK second press
9-track vinyl LP on the plum & red Atlantic label ['Copyright
Control' below the Jimmy Page production credit] which lists
The Lemon Song on both sleeve & labels where later issues
list it as Killing Floor, light brown gatefold picture
sleeve) See 'More Info' for further details... #Top 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time
Tracklisting: More Information
This was the second studio album, released on the 22nd October 1969. The first issue label features ‘The Lemon Song' title, but following a claim of plagiarism levelled at Led Zeppelin [shock, horror!], this song had to be renamed to ‘Killing Floor’ and also credited to Chester Burnett. The Polydor press sleeves are a lighter brown in colour. The sleeve also credits ‘The Lemon Song’ and this was not changed for later issues.
* The labels still list 'Copyright Control' publishing credits and have 'Produced by Jimmy Page' under the titles.
* This second issue has corrected the 'Livin' Lovin' Wreck' error of the first issue and now reads 'Livin' Lovin' Maid (She's A Woman)', which is still wrong and was further corrected with the third Polydor imprint.
* 'Thank You' is still one word, which was also corrected with the third imprint.
The Side Two composer credits for Heartbreaker & Moby Dick still list 'Jones' rather than 'Baldwin'.
* This second issue now has stamped, rather than scratched matrices.
Condition
The sleeves for the early issues are known for being easily damaged & worn, but this copy shows just a little light ageing including some natural colour fade down the spine & light corner/edge scuffing(plus a tiny top split) otherwise appearing in Excellent condition.
The vinyl is nice & clean, with just a little foxing to the label, overall in Excellent condition with very little play in its life. Recommended.
