A FEW OF THE MOST RECENT ITEMS WE WANT...

ELVIS PRESLEY A Fool Such As I (Rare 1959 UK 10" 78RPM shellac single on the silver spot RCA label also featuring I Need Your Love Tonight. This copy is in superb condition with just light surface scuffs to show for over sixty years. As an added bonus, a previous owner has put a nice portrait of Elvis over the RCA logo on side one RCA-1113)
NICK DRAKE Bryter Layter (Rare 1970 UK first pressing 10-track vinyl LP, issued on the pink rimmed Island 'palm tree' label with textured picture sleeve. Often confused with the 1972 pressing with a similar label, this is the very first issue. This copy is graded VG condition but plays through beautifully. Full details of the differences between the two pressings and condition can be found in the 'More Info' section...)

Tracklisting: 1. Introduction 2. Hazey Jane II 3. At The Chime Of A City Clock 4. One Of These Things First 5. Hazey Jane I 6. Bryter Layter 7. Fly 8. Poor Boy 9. Northern Sky 10. Sunday As previously stated there has been much confusion between this original first pressing and the later 1972 issue with a very similar label design. The only way to tell the two apart is the minor label differences. The later issue has the timings of the songs in brackets and the text 'Island Records Ltd' on the right hand side of the label next to the publishing date while this first issue has the song timings left open (no brackets). The later issue also has Joe Boyd's production credit printed on two lines rather than just the one, and removes the 'stereo' notation. Both issues are found with -1 matrix numbers in the run out groove. The machine stamped matrix numbers are: ILPS 9134 A -1U ILPS 9134 B -1U The 'pinched spine' sleeve was manufactured by EJ Day and has a matte textured finish with the Island 'i' logo and Basing Street address printed by the bottom edge on the reverse and is complete with original blue inner with pink 'i' logo and address. The sleeve shows just light signs of ringwear with scuffing on the edges & along the spine, still leaving the artist name visible leaving it VG. The vinyl is strictly graded VG. The disc has been professionally cleaned on a Matrix machine & play tested. There is just a little surface noise at the start of each run-in groove, barely perceptible, as to be expected, but this settles quickly. The vinyl plays through with no distortion & just a little ambient surface noise on occasion which doesn't detract from Drake's soothing vocal delivery. The beauty of his voice & the album's arrangements shine through loud & clear. Visually there are light paper scuffs, probably due to taking the record in & out of the inner, with hints of axial wear in places, but the vinyl still shines through with a satisfying sheen. We thoroughly enjoyed play grading this classic. By no means a mint copy, any fan should still be delighted with this example. We hardly ever see a genuine first issue!
THE BEATLES The Beatles Book (Original 1964 UK 'Special Repeat' 62-page A5 magazine featuring all the best pix from issues 1-6 of the Beatles Monthly magazines. This collector's copy remains in Excellent condition with just a few minor spots of foxing to reveal its age)
THE MARVELETTES The Hunter Gets Captured By The Game (Northern Soul 1967 UK 'A' label demonstration vinyl 7" for the superb single release on Tamla Motown, with custom 'Demonstration Record - Not For Sale' & '10.2.67' release date print on thefour-prong centre. Also features the b-side 'I Think I Can Change You', with both sides written & produced by Smokey Robinson. Complete with the die-cut company sleeve, the vinyl is nice & clean & in Excellent condition with just the occasionalfaint sign of play TMG594)
