THE BEATLES Please Please Me (Rare 1963 UK fourth press 14-track mono vinyl LP, the first on the black/yellow Parlophone label, with '33 1/3' & 'The Parlophone Co' but without 'Sold In The UK' or 'Recording first Published' label text, front laminated flipback picture sleeve with 'Emitex' inner. See 'more info' for condition details... PMC1202)

Tracklisting: 01. I Saw Her Standing There 02. Misery 03. Anna (Go to Him) 04. Chains 05. Boys 06. Ask Me Why 07. Please Please Me 08. Love Me Do 09. P.S. I Love You 10. Baby It's You 11. Do You Want to Know a Secret 12. Taste of Honey 13. There's a Place 14. Twist and Shout The labels Black and Yellow Parlophone in design with "The Parlophone Co Ltd" perimeter text. Clearly readable silver text with no writing. As this is an authentic 1963 second batch press on the yellow & black label [overall the fourth pressing counting the early black & gold pressings], there is no 'Sold in the UK' text across the centre of the label. There are spindle marks around the spindle hole to indicate a degree of repeat play. The matrix numbers on both sides finish -1 indicating that this copy was among the first pressed: Side One XEX 421-1N Side Two XEX 422-1N The Ernest J. Day front laminated flipback sleeve has the large block 'mono' logo on the front and 'photo Angus McBean' credit in the bottom right hand corner. Complete with the 'emitex' inner, the sleeve has some chipping to the laminate with obvious 'crinkling'/creasing to the front. There is only minor ageing to the panels with wear/scuffing to the flipbacks. All text is clear including the spine. This is a Very Good example. The heavyweight vinyl reveals light paper scuffs & hairlines & retains a nice sheen both sides, with no heavy scratches or marks that would cause jumps or sticks. Playback remains Very Good with a degree of light background surface on occasion on a mono playback setting. A very acceptable, if far from mint, example of the greatest debut album in pop history.
