A FEW OF THE MOST RECENT ITEMS WE WANT...

FREE Highway (Circa 1972 UK second press 9-track LP on the pink rim palm tree label with A1/B1 matrices, housed in a matt picture sleeve printed by Robor Limited. The sleeve displays some minor general age wear, the B-Side label has the name of a previous owner written, whilst the vinyl is clean with just a few light cosmetic surface scuffs not affecting play, overal a Very Good example ILPS9138)
THE BEATLES Rubber Soul (Rare 1965 UK 14-track mono vinyl LP with XEX579-1 'Loud Cut' Side One matrix, indicating it to be one of the very first pressings, with 'Emitex' inner in front laminated flipback picture sleeve. What is extremely unusualabout this copy is that the Side Two matrix, which is normally also -1, in this case is XEX580-4. This is a rare transitional pressing & not one that we have seen before PMC1267)

#Top 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time

Tracklisting: The labels on this classic album are matt black with Parlophone in bright yellow lettering and all other text in silver print and show moderate spindle wear. The perimeter text states "The Gramophone Co Ltd" with "Sold In The UK Subject To Resale" etc across the centre of the labels. The matrix numbers have been machine stamped into the run-out grooves: XEX579-1 Side One XEX580-4 Side Two Making this one of the rare transitional copies as all 1965 pressings before this date had -1 matrices & after this date had -4 matrices on both sides. The sleeve shows just a little ring wear ageing with discoloured panels & round edged flipbacks with minimal scuffing. The back panel's text is clearly legible including along the spine, with no writing. A great example of this first issue cover & very iconic. Complete with the 'Emitex' inner, the vinyl grades Very Good - with the vast majority of age displaying on side 1, with light hairlines and scuffing tothe play surface with no real impact to the wonderfuly made 60's vinyl & the odd hairline o side 2. Play testing reveals a wonderful clear sound with no skips or jumps, with that classic sound that cuts like knife. The price reflects this Very Good condition copy, as mint copies tend to sell for alot more than this. This is a great opportunity to get a highly respectable G copy of this rare pressing variant without breaking the bank! Tracklisting: 01. Drive My Car 02. Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown) 03. You Won't See Me 04. Nowhere Man 05. Think for Yourself 06. Word 07. Michelle 08. What Goes On 09. Girl 10. I'm Looking Through You 11. In My Life 12. Wait 13. If I Needed Someone 14. Run for Your Life History The 'Loud Cut' issue (Matrices ending -1) had a slightly different studio mix to the more familiar version. This was withdrawn after a very brief pressing run & the mix was corrected & the stampers re-pressed & changed to have a matrix ending in -4. It's not really 'louder' but thewith the 'loud cut' -1 matrix on side one & the re-mixed -4 matrix on side two. Also copies exist with 'normal' side one & 'loud cut' side two. This copy is one of the very first pressed with the -1 matrices on both sides. By the end of 1965, all of the presses had mix itself has the tonal qualities of louder music with some bass enhancement & a slightly thinner, edgier vocal balance as a consequence of having a little too much compression applied at the mastering stage. This, given the pressure on the factories at the time, was not a smooth transition & copies do exist the -4 matrices.
DIZZY REECE | DONALD BYRD | ART TAYLOR Blues In Trinity (Blue Note Tone Poet Series 2025 limited edition 6-track stereo LP cut directly from the original analogue tapes, mastered by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio and pressed at RTI on 180-gram vinyl. Reece delivers bravado performances throughout including the stunning ballad feature "I Had The Craziest Dream", with Byrd joining for some friendly sparring on "Close-Up" and "Color Blind." Taylor anchors the rhythm section throughout with British pianist Terry Shannon and Canadian bassist Lloyd Thompson, but the album's ace-up-the-sleeve is arguably British tenor saxophonist Tubby Hayes who is a robust presence on standout tracks including the opener "Blues In Trinity" and the Monk classic "‘Round About Midnight." High quality tip-on pasted picture sleeve, hype sticker & factory sealed inside its loose bag. Recommended)

Tracklisting: This stereo Tone Poet Vinyl Edition was produced by Joe Harley, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original analog master tapes, pressed on 180g vinyl at RTI, and packaged in a deluxe gatefold tip-on jacket. The Kingston, Jamaica born trumpeter Dizzy Reece moved to London at age 17 and began performing across Europe, most frequently in Paris, where he played with the likes of Don Byas and Kenny Clarke. Reece also made fans of Miles Davis and Sonny Rollins who spread the word about a hot new trumpeter on the European scene. So when trumpeter Donald Byrd and drummer Art Taylor came through Paris on tour in 1958 they sought out Reece and even found their way into the recording studio together in London for a U.K.-U.S. jazz summit that would become Reece's Blue Note debut: Blues In Trinity. The date was produced by Tony Hall who had cut several sessions with Reece for Decca Records' imprint Tempo that had caught the ear of Alfred Lion, and an arrangement was made for Blue Note to release the new album. Side A 1. Blues In Trinity 2. I Had The Craziest Dream 3. Close-Up Side B 1. Shepherd's Serenade 2. Color Blind 3. 'Round About Midnight
