R2-525469)
Tracklisting: CD1 - Chants Of India (1997):
Creating music for ancient Sanskrit chants, while still maintaining the tremendous integrity and purity of them was a welcome challenge that George Harrison and Ravi Shankar undertook with great care and deliberation. Recorded over 3 sessions, two in Madras, India and one in London, the music was composed by Ravi Shankar and produced by George Harrison.
CD2 - Music Festival From India (1976):
Under the auspices of the Material World Charitable Foundation, George Harrison invited Ravi Shankar and 17 Indian classical musicians including Shivkumar Sharma, Alla Rakha, Sultan Khan and others, to London to record an album. This troupe then toured Europe, culminating in a show at London’s Royal Albert Hall. Composed by Ravi Shankar and recorded during five weeks in 1974, this album was produced by George Harrison. This album was only released on vinyl, and has not been available for over 30 years.
CD3 - Shankar Family & Friends (1974):
The first joint recording project between George Harrison and Ravi Shankar, Shankar Family & Friends brought together Indian classical musicians and Western rock and jazz musicians, including Ringo Starr, Billy Preston, Jim Keltner, Tom Scott, Klaus Voormann and Hari Georgeson (George Harrison). Composed by Ravi Shankar and produced by George Harrison, one half of the album comprises instrumentals and songs, while the second half is a thematic ballet to a yet un-staged performance. This album was only released on vinyl, and has not been available for over 30 years.
DVD - Music Festival From India [Live at the Royal Albert Hall, 1974]:
George Harrison opened the Royal Albert Hall show with a warm introduction for his friend Ravi Shankar. This entire concert was originally filmed and recorded for the Material World Charitable Foundation. Over the years, many of these master films have been lost, destroyed or misplaced. This bonus DVD compiles all the complete filmed performances discovered from this historic concert, and the entire concert in stereo and 5.1 audio. |
 | BUZZCOCKS Spiral Scratch (First Press Limited Edition 1977
UK injection label 4-track 7" EP - What we have here is a little
slice of history... this EP is the moment that punk moved
beyond the confines of the capital city & alerted kids up &
downthe country [& beyond] that they could also do it
themselves. Four slices of brilliantly DIY punk and their only
release to feature Howard Devoto. The thin paper picture
sleeve is one of the first pressings without the 'Howard
Devoto' printingcredit on the front, with flipbacks & 'Delga'
printed on the back left flipback. The delicate sleeve has only
a very small tear in the opening edge, but is still a lovely
clear off white colour for the most part and the vinyl itself
looks near mint. A seminal record & an amazing slice of music
history all in one handy package ORG-1) |
 | GOLDFRAPP Supernature (Rare 2005 UK limited edition
11-track vinyl LP, from the UK's finest electronic pop
alchemists, including the singles Ooh La La, Number 1 and
Ride A White Horse. Housed in a deluxe silver hype stickered
gatefold picturesleeve with illustrated lyric inner. The sleeve
has some light general wear and the vinyl has minimal signs
of play, overall an Excellent example STUMM250) |
 | THE BEATLES Please Please Me (UK 1963 fifth pressing
14-track mono vinyl LP with 'The Parlophone Co' perimeter
text and 'Recording First Published' credit, but without 'Sold
In The UK' text. The sleeve is in amazing condition with the
same bright colours and crisp laminate as the day it was
bought way back in '63! The matt rear of the sleeve is also
superb, showing almost no signs of age PMC1202) See
'More Info' for further details on the condition of this stunning
rarity ...
Tracklisting: This is the third issue on the yellow and black Parlophone label. The first two issues were on the black and gold design label and the first yellow/black issues lacked the 'Recording First Published' text.
This is technically the fifth issue, still from 1963 and still with -1 matrix numbers.
The labels:
Black and Yellow Parlophone in design with 'The Parlophone Co Ltd' perimeter text.
As this is an original 1963 pressing there is no 'Sold in the UK...' text across the centre of the label however the 'Recording First Published 1963' credit is present.
Clearly readable silver text with no blemishes or fading, striking yellow Parlophone logo.
Matrix numbers:
Side One XEX 421-1N
Side Two XEX 422-2N
The labels have minimal spindle marks, and remain very clean. The vinyl is in outstanding condition with minimal visible surface marks. The vinyl retains its original shine despite being almost sixty years old. This is highly unusual as many copies of this album were played excessively at parties during the sixties and many became damaged or badly scratched.
The Ernest J Day front laminated picture sleeve has the large block 'mono' logo and is in incredible condition with crisp clean laminate, rich colours, undamaged edges and spine and secure flipbacks. There is only the lightest signs of creasing to the front, with the merest glimpse of wear/laminate lift to edges.
The rear of the sleeve has not had the benefit of being protected by laminate, however it remains as white as the day it was purchased - a real time warp copy!
Complete with the original perfect 'Use Emitex' lined inner.
Absolutely stunning!
