| PAUL TORTELIER Shostakovich: Cello Concerto No.1 (1973 UK
HMV black and white stamp label stereo vinyl LP, performed
by Paul Tortelier with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra
conducted by Paavo Berglund. At first glance this disc appears
somewhat unassuming, but this TAS listed recording is widely
held to be best recording yet made of the Shostakovich's 1st
cello concerto and is a must have performance for serious
audiophile classical fans. The sleeve does show mild
discolourationmainly to the back whilst the vinyl looks barely
played ASD2924) |
| SLAYER World Painted Blood (2023 US limited edition
11-track black vinyl LP, originally released in 2009 and their
final studio album released before Jeff Hanneman's tragic
death in 2013. Includes the singles Hate Worldwide and
Psychopathy Red. Gatefold picture sleeve with original cover
artwork, factory sealed. Recommended)
Tracklisting: As the final studio album released before Jeff Hanneman's tragic death in 2013, World Painted Blood should automatically be added to your collection as it is no doubt already a piece of metal history. The final record in the American Recordings releases comes in a gatefold jacket. On the front cover, you see a portion of a map of the world, complete with skulls and bones as the foundation for the continents.
Open the gatefold and you're greeted by the complete, grungy, blood-stained world map, designed by San Francisco art firm Morning Breath Inc. With the eerie artwork and savage metal pressed on the record, Livewire says World Painted Blood is one of many indications that Slayer still have plenty of surprises up their sleeves even after more than 30 years of rocking.
