THE RESIDENTS The Voice Of Midnight (2007 UK 12-track CD album
- When The Residents decided to base their new album on the idea of
dreams, they were drawn to composer and horror & fantasy writer
E.T.A. Hoffman's obscure 19th century short story.Feeling the original
story [which took place in the early 1800's] was too distant, they set it
in contemporary times, modernizing many of its elements; the result
remains amazingly true to Hoffman's nightmarish vision of a young
man haunted bymacabre memories from his youth, who tries but
ultimately fails to escape the siren song of The Sandman)
