JOHN LEE HOOKER The Folk Lore Of John Lee Hooker (Rare
1962 UK 1st issue 12-track vinyl LP, front laminated picture

Tupelo and The Hobo (recorded at the Newport Folk Festival in
1960), I'm Mad Again, I'm Going Upstairs and Hard-Headed

otherwise nice bright front image, no rips or tears and secure

JOHN LEE HOOKER The Great John Lee Hooker (Rare 1963 US
1st issue 10-track vinyl LP on the grey Crown label, pasted
picture sleeve. Great set from the king of boogie himself, the
delicate sleeve, which is still in its opened shrinkwrap, has a small
split to the spine and a little wear to the top edge, but nothing
excessive and has withstood the ravages of time amazingly well
considering its age, the vinyl is Excellent with very little signs of
play - highly recommended CLP5353)

JOHN LEE HOOKER Sings The Blues (Rare 1961 US 10-track
vinyl LP, heavyweight pasted picture sleeve. Very hard-to-find
album from one of the pioneers of the electric blues, ripping his
way through a selection of blues numbers all washed down with
a side order of R&B and Rock 'n' Roll, includes Boogie Woogie All
Night Long, Good Rockin' Mama, Hug & Squeeze You and more.
As with many American sleeves from this era there is a seam split
along the spine [nothing that some judicious tape wouldn't fix!]
alongside some general ageing visible, it does remain fully intact
with all text clearly visible, the vinyl does have a couple of visible
hairlines/scuffs and some light blemishes, but these are minor
and have minimal effect on play - overall a more than acceptable
play copy, priced advantageously CLP5232)

JOHN LEE HOOKER The Blues (1963 US 12-track vinyl LP on the
'grey' Crown label, pasted picture sleeve with 'full color high
fidelity' text. Seminal blues recordings originally released as '78s
on Modern Records between 1948 and 1952, includes hisdebut
recording 'Boogie Chillen', a solo performance featuring, what
would become, Hooker trademarks; a part spoken part sung
vocal, electric guitar, and those all important rhythmic foot
stomps. The sleeve on this copy has a split to the spine but
otherwise shows relatively little where, the vinyl is graded EX
with just a few light scuffs/hairlines visible - however, these
recordings are from the original '78s so there are some
'pops/background noise' audible CLP5157

the Gold Print Chess label of the 12-track vinyl LP originally released in
the US in 1961, front laminated picture sleeve with detailed liner notes
by Studs Terkel on the reverse. Superb selection of mainly acoustic
blues recorded in the early '50s, the sleeve shows just some light

are secure with no unsightly rips, tears etc. The label displays some
spindle wear and there are a couple of visible hairlines but playtesting
reveals very little loss in fidelity - only the second copy we've ever had
