HORACE SILVER QUINTET 6 Pieces Of Silver (Rare 60s US
transitional label issue of the 1956 7-track Mono LP, with the
'New York USA' address one side & the earlier 'West 63rd'
address on Side 2. The 'r' trademark is at the end of 'Note' &
thereis a clear deep groove both sides of the label. 'RVG' &
the 'ear' marking are etched in both run-outs. The record also
stars Hank Mobley, Donald Byrd, Doug Watkins & Louis Hayes,
in a deeply satisfying Blue Note date. The pasted picture
sleeve [VG] has a name signature ['Earl Jones?'] on the front,
unobtrusive to the main design & there is a set of initials
penned on the back, away from the print. Otherwise the
panels are nice & sturdy, with all text legible & just a few
faint chips in the paper along the top. The vinyl is super clean
& grades Excellent with very little evidence of play BLP1539)
