GARY HIGGINS Red Hash (Very rare 1973 US 'acid folk' private press 11-track stereo vinyl LP, pasted picture sleeve. This super-obscure self-financed longplayer, pressed in tiny quantities, lay undiscovered for thirty-two years until a reissue program through US indie Drag City in 2005 let it gain much deserved wider attention. Unlike other undiscovered 'gems' it's a really strong album with a folky/singer songwriter feel, psychedelic flourishes and a wonderfully doomy quality throughoutand now rightfully taking its place alongside similarly reassessed '60s/'70s obscurities [Vashti Bunyan, Linda Perhacs, Damon etc]. The sleeve is still in the original shrink and shows minimal shelfwear, the vinyl is flawless and grades Near Mint.
