CHARLEY PATTON Screamin' And Hollerin' The Blues (Amazing 2001 UK SEVEN CD box set designed to look like a book set of 78RPM records, containing all of the recordings made between 1929 and 1934 by the Mississippi singer / guitarist forsuch legendary labels as Vocalion & Paramount. Inside the wonderful 12" x 10.5" embossed & textured slipcase box is a bound book. Inside this book, the wonders continue with a facsimile of the pocket book about him by John Fahey, then over onehundred full size pages giving biography & discography information, replicas of the original adverts that featured on the 78 sleeves, then page after page of stickers of the 78RPM labels for the featured tracks. The CDs themselves are mounted on cardboard replicas of old 78s, slipped into replicas of the original paper sleeves and bound into the sumptuous book-like album. Not only Charley but also recordings that influenced him and those by his contemporaries are featured. The box displays just a little light general wear, with the contents & discs remaining in wonderful near 'as new' condition)
