Conductor Gunther Schuller directed 30 musicians in what the New York Times described as 'One of the most memorable jazz events of the decade'. The piece had been discovered after Mingus' death in 1979 and painstakingly restored and copied. Also stars Thad Jones on Trumpet, John Dennis on Piano & Max Roach on Drums, pasted picture sleeve with historic tape reinforcement at each closed edge. The delicate cover has survived to tell its tale & is still firmly intact [small split at bottom opening corner] with just some mild discolouring on the back & a small paper tear on the front at the bottom not upsetting the print. All text remains clearly legible. The vinyl is clean & grades a very healthy VG/VG+ with just one or two very tiny & almost insignificant paper scratches that have little effect on play.
