THE BEATLES The Beatles Original Mono-Record Box (Very rare 1986 Japanese-only fan club issue TEN LP vinyl box set issued to commemorate the 20th Anniversary of The Beatles' Japanese concerts, containing every MONO issued LP from PleasePlease Me through to Yellow Submarine pressed exclusively on Red Vinyl complete with lyric inserts, picture sleeves & 'It Was 20 Years Ago' obi-strips, all housed in a mammoth & unique promotional-only picture box. This fan club copy contains the extremely rare 5¾" x 8¼" 66-page promotinal-only Japanese language booklet, entitled 'The Beatles Forever - 20th Anniversary Of Japan Concert' containing the band history, biographies, 'key words', discography of both the band and solo releases and great photographs, including a nice period Japanese advertisment featuring Ringo endorsing Shweppes, all in a colour cover with matching 'It Was 20 Years Ago' logo to the front and with the original EMI questionnaire postcard still inside. Also included is a 9½ x 12½" facimile insert of the legendary January 4-18th 1962 issue of Mersey Beat, proclaiming 'Beatles Top Poll!' The box has just a little inevitable scuffing to the edges, but otherwise looks fantastic. Save for a few small spots of foxing to the sleeve of The White Album, the vinyl & sleeves are Near Mint, the insert and booklet are likewise Near Mint with no discernable sign of age - a stunning issue and not one that is easy to locate, even with a lifetime of searching in Japan itself!
