THE BEATLES The Beatles [White Album] (Super rare UK original EMI Records South East Asia Ltd export 2-LP, circa 1969, on the entirely black & silver Parlophone one-box EMI label, not the usual Apple Records. The Singaporean subsidiary recordcompany of Electric & Musical Industries Ltd. (EMI) was established January 1967, and renamed to EMI (Singapore) Pte. Limited in 1971, so this pressing pre-dates that later change. This S.E.A. variant was destined for sale in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong. The matt black Parlophone one-box EMI labels show entirely silver print, and unlike similar one-box EMI labels from '69/'70 the outlined EMI box logo presented here is entirely silver, no hint of white at all. The label perimeter print begins 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd. All Rights…' and ends 'Copying Of This Record Prohibited', and there is no country of manufacture stated anywhere on the label. The matrices and centre label ridge indicate this to be a UK pressing. Housed inside an early UK top-opening gatefold laminated picture sleeve without Stereo imprinted, numbered No. 0201462, complete with 4 portraits and fold-out poster, plus 2 x E.M.I. RECORDS (S.E.A.) LTD printed company inner sleeves with both red and black EMI elliptical logos one side and a series of shadow box logos on the reverse) See 'more info' for additional details…

The matrices indicate this to be a UK pressing and the centre label perimeter ridge measures 32mm diameter, same as the UK first issue pressings with Apple labels.

The sleeve grades a very conservative VG+, super clean with barely a trace of ringwear, the embossed title remains clear and the individual number printed in mid-dark grey stands out distinctly. The laminate has cracked at the top and bottom of the spine edge, the front, back and internal flipback panels remain free of defect.

The portraits and poster display minor age-spotting. The rounded corner EMI South East Asia inner sleeves have seam splits and general creasing, these have now been separated from the records to prevent further wear.

All 4 sides of the records grade EX, very clean with minimal signs of play.

The all-important black Parlophone labels are beautiful, barely a trace of spindle-use, no paper loss at all, clean, clear and crisply legible silver print throughout.
