THE INCREDIBLE STRING BAND The Incredible String Band (Incredibly Rare Debut 1966 UK first issue 16-track MONO vinyl LP on the 'rough' textured white label, featuring the original trio line-up of Clive Palmer, Robin Williamson & Mike Heron. Recorded at the Sound Techniques studio in Chelsea, London in one afternoon in May 1966, producer Joe Boyd insisted on as many original songs as possible. Condition :-

We should start by saying, a first issue of this with the white label design is a very rare find. We have never stocked one in all our years of trading. Obtained from a private folk collection, with many of the LPs in a "well loved" state, this one fairs better.
The cover retains all its laminate of the sixties "floating" kind, & there is some mild lift & creasing around the edges. Some of the creases have resulted in small thumbnail splits to the spine, yet all text remains clearly legible. This is a Very Good example.

The labels have no blemishes other than some light spindle marks by the centre hole to show play. The vinyl has received a deep clean both sides on a top of the range Matrix machine, with the vinyl still shining bright as ever. On close inspection, there are some faint hairline scuffs & the odd cosmetic mark which does not affect play. By no means mint, we would grade this rare beauty VG+ Through the light surface in the quieter sections, there are no jumps or major hiccups that affect the music. A must.
