THE BEATLES Early 1964 Billboard Poster (Extremely rare early 1964 UK poster, measuring 15" by 20", designed for billboard use and mounted onto a sheet of hardboard. Given the exotic catalogue number of A1259, this was issued to select larger record shops, simply to promote the fact that the biggest band in the world recorded for EMI. Generally recognised as being one of the rarest promotional posters of the band in existence, this particular poster has been saved from the worst ravages of time by being pre-laminated when fixed to the hardboard way back when, as this was probably for an external display fitting. To that effect, four screw holes are present at the corners, with two small peg fitting holes about half way down. Over the last fifty years, the poster has received a few scuffs to the front, but these are mostly only laminate deep, with just a couple of the scuffs actually leading to paper loss to the underlying poster. This particular treasure came directly from the personal collection of a former EMI director, which explains how it has survived so well or indeed, at all. This is one poster that we can guarantee you will not see many of. It remains in staggering condition compared to the stained and torn rags that are normally found, when they are occasionally discovered. The surviving numbers of this poster are unknown, but given the huge quantity that have surfaced over the years [!], you are probably talking just handfuls. Few, if any, will remain in as nice condition as this one - Get it while you can!)
