The curiosities of the French mono release:

The inside of the gatefold displays a French Dylan singles discography & French sleeve notes. Both sleeve & labels list 'Stuck Inside Of Mobile With The Memphis Blues Again' as just 'Memphis Blues Again'.
The outside cover has the CBS logo in white on black, rather than transparent, and there is text above simply stating 'Mono 66012 A' & 'Mono 66012 B'. In fact, there is no reference to Bob or the album title on the outside at all except on the spine.

The labels are solid orange and have the 'B.I.E.M.' credit, rather than the later 'SACEM'.

The records have the following hand scratched matrices:
Side 1: HI 66012 A1
Side 2: HI 66012 A2
Side 3: HI 66012 B1
Side 4: HI 66012 B2

Just to add to the fun, the French mono double LP has unique mono mixes of about half the material that is not available on other releases. I don't know what it is about Dylan mono releases that throw up these quirks, but here's another one to add to your fact sheet. This record uses the US mix on sides one and four, but has unique mixes on side two and three!

Consensus holds that these mixes are, in fact, later mixes than the US mixes, which were later again than some of the earliest mixes found on the Canadian mono. The sound balance is different and even the track times vary slightly. These are definitely mono mixes and not fold down mixes from the stereo, but where, when, and why is open to speculation. The mix differences are most evident on Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat, Temporary Like Achilles, Obviously 5 Believers and 4th Time Around.

Condition :-

The sleeve is in beautiful condition.
The spine is still clearly readable & the front also shows no evidence of fading or age yellowing. There is minimal evidence of general shelfwear with just a few light creases visible at the edge of the laminate just a little edge scuffing at the opening.

This copy has obviously been stored very well indeed.

The vinyl itself matches the sleeve. It is beautiful with just a couple of light spindle marks around the label centre to indicate play.
Upon close inspection, there are no obvious hairline marks or scuffs to be seen. An easily excellent condition record.

A wonderful copy of this unique forty year old album!
