LISTENING Listening (2008 Italian 11-track CD album, originally released on Vanguard in 1968, perhaps the most underappreciated group to emerge from the late 60s 'Bosstown Sound' Boston scene, who effortlessly matched complex song structures withstoned jams, drawing on diverse influences such as free jazz, blues and even Latin rhythms! Bassist Walter Powers had previously played in local heroes The Lost, and would go on to be briefly involved in the post-Lou Reed Velvet Underground with fellow ex-Lost member Willie Alexander; presented in sealed picture sleeve)
