BEGGAR'S OPERA Act One (Rare original 1970 German 5-track LP on the large 'swirl' Vertigo label, housed in a laminated gatefold picture sleeve. This debut introduced the band as a major player in the early British symphonic scene. A fantastic post-psychedelic, pop/folk blend with strong organ & keyboards, with hints of Emerson Lake & Palmer. The vocals are powerful & strident though they do have more naive melodies. There is a previous owner's name penned on the very inside of the gatefold where the vinyl resides & unobtrusively on the Side B label, otherwise the sleeve is Excellent with minimal signs of wear & the vinyl appears Near Mint)
