This incredible rarity comes from a one-previous owner collection of jazz LPs that were purchased in the UK at the original time of release.

Label Design: -

With 'Inc' & 'R' lettering after 'Blue Note'. Deep groove with '47 West 63rd - NYC' address.

This beautiful second variant collector's copy was pressed just after "Blue Note Records" became an incorporated company & a registered trademark. The same fine sound as the 47W63rds pressings without the 'INC' and 'R' on the labels is present. We have play tested this record & the sound is immense, there is no doubt about that. This copy must come from an early batch of the second run with stampers originating from the same Matrix/ mothers as the original 47W63rds previously mentioned.
A combination of Van Gelder's sound engineering & Plastylite pressing [with or without the 'R'], this is well & truly the 'golden age' of highest quality, Blue Note pressings.

Condition : -

Obtained from a one previous owner collection, with all records bought in England from new as rare exotic imports at the time, the heavyweight pasted laminate sleeve is in beautiful shape. Clean, with rich, vivid colours & all text clearly legible, there is just the faintest few spots of chipping to the paper at a few edges to show with age. This is very minor, & otherwise the sleeve easily meets an excellent condition grade.

The colours of the labels are bright and vivid with no tears to the print. There is a 'deep groove' visible both sides & a raised edge. From a collector's standpoint, a flat edge is more desirable but in terms of sound quality there is little between a flat & raised edge pressing of these original monos. There are some very light spindle marks to indicate play but nothing of any real consequence.

The vinyl has been professionally cleaned on a Matrix machine and has come up looking sparkling. It was already looking amazing prior to the clean! Under a bright light, there is just a little light axial wear to indicate handling in the past. Upon play testing both sides, we can confirm this one sounds truly astonishing. Wonderful stuff & easily in the 'excellent' condition bracket, we have to say there really is no other way to own this - you've got to get a first pressing mono to hear the difference...

This Blue Note release is an acknowledged masterpiece. It should not be missing from any jazz or serious music collection for that matter. Trust us, you won't be disappointed!
