JOHNSON / THE MODERN JAZZ QUARTET / THE OSCAR PETERSON TRIO At The Opera House (Fantastic 1966 UK 14-track compilation double LP featuring sessions recorded live in Chicago in October 1957. The first two sides are devoted to asuperb set by Stan & J.J., also featuring Oscar Peterson on Piano, Herb Ellis on Guitar, Ray Brown on Bass & Connie Kay on Drums, who stays behind the kit for a side by MJQ. Herb Ellis & Ray Brown return for the final side as the Oscar Peterson Trio. The sleeve is a wonderful front laminated internal flipback, intenal pocket design that is like two standard LP sleeves joined at the waist. Both sleeve & vinyl are in marvellous condition - A beautiful album! VSP3/4)
