THE ZOMBIES Odessey & Oracle (Incredibly rare original 1968 UK 12-track stereo LP on the smooth & plain CBS orange label, with A2/B2 matrices & beautiful front laminated psychedelic picture sleeve. Overlooked on first release & now regarded asone of the finest English pop/psych albums of the era, this is a staggeringly handsome archive copy & a one previous owner example)
See 'More Info' for further details ...

Tracklisting: Recorded at Abbey Road and Olympic Studios between June and November 1967, by the time of the April '68 release of Odessey And Oracle, the Zombies had effectively split-up. This obviously hampered the album's commercial breakthrough & sales were low as a result. The sleeve on this copy looks might fine. The laminate is beautifully clean with the colours in Terry Quirk's psychedelic design wonderfully vivid. The cover still shines bright & all edges & the original pinched spine are intact & the spine is clearly legible. There are just a couple of really small creases in the laminate to mention. Otherwise a gorgeous, excellent condition copy. It is a common misconception that the mono is rarer than the stereo pressing. While the mono has become very desirable in the collectors markets, there were fewer stereo copies pressed. The vinyl displays minor signs of play. This copy has seen very low mileage, being bought at the time of release, played just a select handful of times & stored away, not seeing daylight again until now. There are a few minor spindle marks on the labels to indicate play but nothing major. There are a few visible paper scuffs & hairlines but we have play tested the record all the way through & it sounds gorgeous! This is easily an excellent condition example for one lucky owner. A very clean copy indeed. Of course, the album is consistently in the top 3 when it comes to polls for all time classic British sixties psych records. Highly recommended. Tracklisting 1. Care Of Cell 44 2. A Rose For Emily 3. Maybe After He's Gone 4. Beechwood Park 5. Brief Candles 6. Hung Up On A Dream 7. Changes 8. I Want Her She Wants Me 9. This Will Be Our Year 10. Butcher's Tale (Western Front 1914) 11. Friends Of Mine 12. Time Of The Season
