A FEW OF THE MOST RECENT ITEMS WE WANT...

GRATEFUL DEAD American Beauty (Original Master Recording limited edition Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab 10-track double album 2-LP, mastered by Krieg Wunderlich on the Gain 2 Ultra Analog System, specially plated and pressed on 180-gram High-Definition Vinyl at 45RPM. Their 1970 masterpiece American Beauty is the most perfectly realized, superbly played, and openly natural folk-rock record ever released and this pressing allows you to experience the album with unrivaled in
#Top 500 Greatest Albums Of All Timetimacy, realism, detail, and perspective. Heavyweight gatefold picture sleeve with original album art by Kelly-Mouse Studios, individually gold-foil numbered and still sealed inside its perforated loose bag. Recommended)

Tracklisting: The pinnacle of the Dead's studio output, American Beauty lives up to its name – as well as that of the "American Reality" ambigram on the iconic cover. Airy vocal harmonies blow like fresh breezes. Strummed acoustic guitars amicably intermingle with plaintive percussive beats. Warmth, relaxation, and poignancy envelop the performances and create sensations of bliss, peace, and honesty. Songs flower with majestic melodies and emotionally direct lyrics. It's a rare album that makes one feel, restores one's faith, and renews one's appreciation for all life offers. Made just months after its companion release, Workingman's Dead, the San Francisco legends' second 1970 masterpiece furthers the former work's close-knit relationship between country and folk while adding extra rock and bluegrass currents. Understated amplified passages, graceful melodies, layered singing, and old-time string flavors – including mandolin work from masterful guest David Grisman – bestow the material with easygoing, comfortable vibes. Again taking advantage of the best songwriting of Robert Hunter's career, the Dead turns in its most collective studio performance, with every individual contributing equally and focusing on nothing but the songs at hand. Indeed, Garcia doesn't even indulge in a single guitar solo on the record. A majority of fare lacks any significant instrumental breaks. The Dead recorded the foundations (drums, bass, acoustic guitars) of nearly every track live, which helps explain why American Beauty sounds so powerfully rich and clear. Coupled with the band's personal reflections of the circumstances surrounding them – Bob Weir's parents had died, Garcia's mother and Lesh's father were in the process of passing, Ron "Pigpen" McKernan's health was in decline – these characteristics combined to yield a purity of heart that exceeds that managed by Dead peers (and roots revivalist leaders) The Band and Bob Dylan. From Garcia's breathtaking gospel-laden homage to his mother ("Brokedown Palace") to Lesh's healing salve in the form of the groove-based "Box of Rain," from Weir's jaunty and free-wheeling summer escape "Sugar Magnolia" to McKernan's eloquently simple homespun plea "Operator," all the way to the closing autobiographical anthem "Truckin'," American Beauty feels like the warm, spirit-infusing embrace of a loved one after a long journey away. Welcome home. Side One 1. Box Of Rain 2. Friend Of The Devil Side Two 3. Sugar Magnolia 4. Operator 5. Candyman Side Three 6. Ripple 7. Brokedown Palace 8. Till The Morning Comes Side Four 9. Attics Of My Life 10. Truckin'

Housedin a plain die-cut card sleeve, the vinyl has only very light paper scuffs from being taken from the sleeve, otherwise little signs of play OUT1)

The CD features mono and stereo recordings of 8 tracks, and is housed in a custom card picture wallet, which features the artwork from the four original record sleeves!)

DAVID BOWIE Diamond Dogs (50th Anniversary 2024 UK/EU limited edtion 11-track LP, a Half Speed Master audiophile cut using a fully customised late Neumann VMS80 lathe at AIR Studios. After George Orwell's widow refused Bowie theright to use 1984 as the title of his forthcoming album, he instead used the novel as a conceptual blueprint for what became Diamond Dogs. Fetauring the glam rock classic Rebel Rebel. Gatwfold picture sleeve with spine-wrap picture obi, factory sealed. Recommended)

Tracklisting: Accompanied only by keyboardist Mike Garson, bassist Herbie Flowers, and drummers Aynsley Dunbar and Tony Newman, Bowie played guitar, sax, moog, and mellotron, in addition to his contributions as vocalist, composer, arranger, and producer of the album. With the Orwellian themes as a loose backdrop, Diamond Dogs has much of the apocalyptic sense of future shock that informed Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. While the album doesn't have the musical punch or the songwriting strengths of Ziggy, its gems make it more than worthwhile. The lush strings and dominant wah-wah guitar of 1984 seem like a nod to Isaac Hayes, while Bowie's howls and snarling sax on the title track make it instantly memorable. The glam rock classic Rebel Rebel, with its edgy guitar riff and strutting 4/4 beat, is the album's highlight, and one of Bowie's all-time great songs. Amidst the imagery of a grey, totalitarian future, Bowie injected some optimism by including the nostalgic Rock 'n' Roll With Me, a good time, rootsy number that presaged his next transformation into the blue-eyed soul singer of Young Americans. Side One 1. Future Legend 2. Diamond Dogs 3. Sweet Thing 4. Candidate 5. Sweet Thing (Reprise) 6. Rebel Rebel Side Two 1. Rock 'n' Roll with Me 2. We Are the Dead 3. 1984 4. Big Brother 5. Chant of the Ever Circling Skeletal Family
