from the soundboard by longtime band engineer Gennaro
Rippo, Live In Edinburgh 1982: The Gennaro
Tapes offers a vivid, previously unheard document of
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers during the Long After Dark
tour. The recording is sourced directly from Rippo's original
cassette and housed in a triple gatefold jacket, complete with
a printed insert featuring a letter from Rippo dated June 12,
2024. A hype sticker on the shrinkwrap details the archival
source and limited nature of the pressing. The performance
itself is a high-energy snapshot of the band's 1982 tour,
touching on early classics, fan-favourites, and choice covers.
