Verve albums to move Johnny Hodges away from Ellington
and more into the soul jazz mode that served him so well as a
leader inthe sixties, featuring versions of And Then Some,
Hodge-Podge & the title track. Recorded with Wild Bill Davis
[organ], Sam Jones [bass], Louis Hayes [drums], and the
great Les Spann on guitar and flute, the front laminated
flipback picture sleeve shows light wear (small tear to
flipback) and the vinyl is Excellent with light play CLP1579)

Album box set, and was a lottery as to who receives a copy. Thedisc is printed with the similar design that featured on the 1964
legendary 7" with the Odeon Records label, housed in a custom
card wallet picture sleeve replicating the artwork from the single
with 'Sampler / Not For Sale / PromotionalUse Only' text on the
front, whilst the back promotes the actual Japan Box release,
comes with a two page Japanese press release. Another stunning
promo from Japan that is sure to become very sought after and
highly collectable SIC-9045) |

12-track vinyl LP pressed with gatefold picture sleeve and
lyric inner. His third solo album featuring The Changingman,
You Do Something To Me and Broken Stones. This copy is one
of theearly issues of this pressing that mispells the album
title on the spine as 'Stanely Road', before being corrected on
subsequent issues. Both the sleeve and vinyl remain in superb
Near Mint condition. A nice addition to any Weller collection)

picture labels, including the classics Town Called Malice, The
Bitterest Pill, The Eton Rifles plus an exclusive alternate
version of That's Entertainment. Comes complete with the
bonus 4-track 7" vinyl EP recorded live at Wembley
Arena in December 1982 [SNAPL45]. The gatefold picture
sleeve still has the hype sticker attached with the illustrated
inners & merchandise insert enclosed. The sleeve has just
light shelfwear, the merch sheet has some creasing, the
inners have some notable foxing and the vinyl reveals only
light signs of play. Whilst not mint this is a fine example of a
complete pressing of this album of Jam classics!)
