The Rolling Stones worked with the Pantone Colour Institute to create the official Stones Red. Stones Redwas then established. This exclusive edition was created to commemorate the opening on 9th September of the first official Rolling Stones store at London's famous Carnaby Street. Limited to just 1000 copies this sold out within a matter of hours. The gatefold picture sleeve is housed inside a custom PVC outer sleeve with an exclusive '9' tongue logo printed on the front. Super cool and super rare, a genuine modern day collectable!)

PINK FLOYD The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn (Rare 1967 UK first pressing 11-track mono LP on the blue & black Columbia label. This copy comes in the second variant front laminated flipback picture sleeve, with 'File Under Popular' printed on thetop flipback in the right corner and with '6709 TPS Printed and made by Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd., London SX 6157 / SCX 6157' at the bottom SX6157)
See 'More Info' for further details of this classic release...

Tracklisting: Background & Condition The album was released on August 5th, 1967 and one month later it was released in stereo. The album's title comes from the title of the seventh chapter of Kenneth Grahame's 'The Wind in the Willows'! The mono mixes of each track were done at separate sessions, as it was the main format. The whole stereo album mix was a one day thing, so this really is the definitive mix of this classic album with significant differences to the stereo mix. Subtle changes in effect abound, moment to moment gradations that can alter the flow of an entire track. For example, Syd Barrett’s whoops and shouts on 'Take Up Thy Stethoscope And Walk' are simply dripping with delay and the environment constantly morphs, unlike the stereo version which is 'fixed'. The coda of 'Flaming' is shorter than on the stereo version, as is 'The Gnome'. There's a whole layer of organ missing on the stereo mix at the start of 'Interstellar Overdrive' with a bongo fade-out and seriously different parts in 'Pow R Toch H'. As the engineer said many years later "The omission of things in the stereo mixes was really just because of the time - or lack of it - spent over these" Mono was the de-facto standard and the stereo mix, like 'Sgt Pepper', was pretty much cobbled together as an afterthought. The Sleeve The Ernest J. Day & Co. sleeve reveals just a little minor shelfwear, the flipbacks are nice & secure with the spine being perfectly legible with just a couple of light creases in the laminate, the print remains bright, vivid & unblemished, with 'File Under Popular' printed in the top right on the back & '6709' release date bottom right. There are no rips or splits, the unlaminated back has just a little age discoloration. vinyl The labels are the blue and black Columbia design with "The Gramophone Co Ltd" and "Sold In UK Subject To...." text. These labels feature a slightly different font, with the layout of the song titles and credits altered. For example, the songwriting credits for Interstellar Overdrive on side 2 have been moved to under the song title as opposed to being next to the title. The matrix numbers are:- XAX 3419-2 GD 1 / XAX 3420-1 GD 1 Which confirm that this is a first issue. There are a few spindle marks visible but otherwise the labels are clean & all text clearly legible. The vinyl has been professionally cleaned & played. Strictly graded VG-, the start of each side begins with a little light distortion in passages before the track gets going. The surface noise is not obtrusive to the actual music and settles down in time for the song to properly kick off. The disc plays through a treat, despite having a few noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch, this does not affect play & the quiet passages between each track has just a little background sound. The whole disc plays through just fine & sounds much, much better than it looks. Thanks due to the superior quality of the 1960's vinyl pressings, when played the effect is minimised. This looks like a Good but plays a respectable Very Good. A great chance to grab a respectable first issue MONO for a great price! Tracklisting 1. Astronomy Dominé 2. Lucifer Sam 3. Matilda Mother 4. Flaming 5. Pow R Toc H 6. Take Up Thy Stethoscope And Walk 7. Interstellar Overdrive 8. The Gnome 9. Chapter 24 10. Scarecrow 11. Bike
