THE BEATLES Help! #Top 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time

Tracklisting: The first issue picture sleeve was manufactured by Garrod & Lofthouse. EJ Day did not produce any sleeves for Help. The top and bottom edges of the spine are 'pinched', as they should have been back in '65, with rounded ended flipbacks. The lower flipback has 'Patents Pending' text and the coded date 6509, which confirms a first stereo issue. Complete with 'Emitex' lined inner, the all important matrices in the run-offs of the record are YEX168-1 & YEX169-1, indicating a first pressing. This is a nice one owner example. The sleeve is graded as Near Mint, in superb shape for its age showing very few signs of storage other than faintest signs of shelf wear. The vinyl is clean; graded Excellent showing just minor signs of age or light play. A fantastic example now 60 years on! Tracklisting :- 01. Help! 02. The Night Before 03. You've Got To Hide Your Love Away 04. I Need You 05. Another Girl 06. You're Going To Lose That Girl 07. Ticket To Ride 08. Act Naturally 09. It's Only Love 10. You Like Me Too Much 11. Tell Me What You See 12. I've Just Seen A Face 13. Yesterday 14. Dizzy Miss Lizzy
TUBEWAY ARMY Replicas (1979 Japanese 10-track vinyl LP, including the classic Are Friends Electric and Down In The Park, picture sleeve complete with fold-out Japanese / lyric insert and obi-strip. THE ROLLING STONES The Rolling Stones No. 2 (Very rare 1965 first UK issue 12-track deep groove mono LP, on the unboxed Decca logo 'ffrr' label. This is the record to hit the shops first before any other pressing. The labels have the 'Made In England' print along the top rim, the composer credits in italics & the 'K'T' & 'S' codes to the right. The David Bailey cover is front laminated with flipbacks & has the original offending 'blind man' wording in Andrew Loog Oldham's sleevenotes, which caused uproar at the time & was even raised in Parliament! This text was subsequently pasted over & then re-printed altogether. See 'more info' for condition details... LK4661)

Tracklisting: The group's second British album actually appeared after their second US LP, mostly owing to the fact that the British rock & roll audience wasn't focused on the long-player as a medium (Singles and EPs were the driving force of the business in England then). It uses the same David Bailey cover shot that had graced the US issued '12 X 5' album two months earlier, but only four songs (Under The Boardwalk, Suzie Q, Grown Up Wrong and Time Is On My Side) overlap on the two albums. Rather, Rolling Stones No. 2 offered seven songs that weren't to make it out in America until four months later on 'The Rolling Stones Now!' It also includes one of the group's best blues covers, their version of Muddy Waters' I Can't Be Satisfied, which wasn't released in America until 1973 and features some killer slide playing by Brian Jones. The U.K. LP was originally released in mono only & took forever to come out on CD in this form. The original cover design carried sleeve notes that included the text: "If you don’t have bread, see that blind man, knock him on the head, steal his wallet and low and behold you have the loot, if you put in the boot, good, another one sold!" Not one of Mr Loog Oldham's wisest lyrical outpourings and they naturally caused uproar in January 1965, even to the extent of being debated in the UK Parliament. This was a bit too much for Decca and an alternate version of the back artwork was hastily prepared & the few they had left in the factories were overpasted with the new artwork. Most first issue sleeves continued to carry the text as they were already in the shops. The labels are red with unboxed, open Decca logo and ffrr 'ear', with the deep grooves that were omitted from later pressings. This is the very first label variant. The labels have the 'Made In England' print along the top rim, the composer credits in italics & the 'K'T' & 'S' codes to the right. The matrix numbers are machine stamped into the 'dead wax' areas. They are as follows: Side One XARL-6619-2A Side Two XARL-6620-1A Condition: The sleeve does show its age, with obvious corner/laminate creases and edgewear. The back cover shows discolouration/foxing mostly to the edges, although all text is legible. The labels show obvious spindle marks. The vinyl is graded as VG, with obvious signs of play, with light hairlines/scuffs throughout and a few glimpses of axial wear. Not mint, although a perfectly acceptable VG/play copy of this classic album. Tracklisting: 01. Everybody Needs Somebody To Love 02. Down Home Girl 03. You Can't Catch Me 04. Time Is On My Side 05. What A Shame 06. Grown Up Wrong 07. Down The Road Apiece 08. Under The Boardwalk 09. I Can't Be Satisfied 10. Pain In My Heart 11. Off The Hook 12. Suzie-Q
RED GARLAND QUINTET / PRESTIGE ALL-STARS / JACKIE McLEAN QUINTET Soul Jazz (1960 UK 'rough' textured label 3-track mono compilation LP, featuring 'All Mornin' Long' by the Garland Quintet (starring John Coltrane), 'All Day Long' by The Prestige All Stars and 'Lights Out' by McLean's Quintet (all three featuring Donald Byrd), front laminated flipback picture sleeve. The sleeve shows minimal shelfwear & the vinyl shows a couple faint superficial marks, none of which are raised and would have any real impact on play 688300ZL)

Tracklisting: Red Garland Quintet - All Mornin' Long Prestige All Stars - All Day Long Jackie McLean Quintet - Lights Out
