This copy is housed in the original textured card picture sleeve printed by the E.J. Day Group with an 'i' logo and Basing Street address printed by the bottom edge on the reverse. The sleeve shows just a small amount of edgewear, a couple negligible scuffs from storage here and there as to be expected from the nature of the design, although this is fairly minimal. The text on the spine is legible and all edges are free from splits.
The vinyl is in Excellent condition, fast approaching Near Mint with the only ultra-fine cosmetic hairlines to be seen remain in the dead wax area only.
The matrix numbers are machine stamped into the 'dead wax' areas:
ILPS 9134 A-1U
ILPS 9134 B-1U
Both labels are beautifully clean with minimal spindle wear indicating very little play. The design of the labels on this 1972 issue are slightly different from the original in that the timings of the songs are bracketed and the publishing date is now followed by 'Island Records Ltd' text.
A stunning copy of this highly sought after pressing. Would make a great investment or addition to any serious collection! |
 | ROXY MUSIC For Your Pleasure (2022 UK/EU limited edition 8-track
LP Half Speed Mastered at Abbey Road Studios by Miles
Showell. Originally released in 1973 Roxy Music followed up their
stunning debut with an album that’s come to be regarded by many as
the ultimate musical expression of their early period. The iconic cover
photo featuring Amanda Lear now has a gloss laminated finish to
further enhance its artwork credentials. Gatefold picture sleeve with
hype sticker, factory se #Top 500 Greatest Albums Of All Timealed)
Tracklisting: Roxy Music followed up their stunning debut with ‘For Your Pleasure’, an album that’s come to be regarded by many as the ultimate musical expression of Roxy Music’s early period. For this record the band found the freedom to develop the songs along experimental lines in the studio, resulting in an immensely satisfying musical statement. Added to Bryan Ferry’s alternately seductive and dystopian imagery, Eno’s other-worldly synth sounds and tape loop effects were propelled by the virtuoso musical powerhouse of Andy Mackay, Phil Manzanera and Paul Thompson. Ultimately, the sum of these parts continues to earn ‘For Your Pleasure’ a place in many ‘Best Albums Of All Time’ listings and its music is as timeless and fresh today as first heard back in 1973. For this 50th anniversary edition ‘For Your Pleasure’ has been given a fresh half-speed cut by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios in London. To reflect the enhanced audio, the album artwork has been similarly revised with lyrics and a deluxe gloss laminated finish.
