 | ROLLING STONES Their Satanic Majesties Request (Rare complete
1968 first Japanese issue 10-track deep groove stereo LP,
manufactured & imported directly from England with custom made
green labels which bear all the hallmarks of a DeccaUK press['Made In
England' perimeter print, machine stamped 'ZAL' matrices in the
run-outs] but have the 'London/FFRR' export logo at the top. The
front laminated gatefold sleeve has the 3D diffraction grating & red
flame inner & must be one oftherarest variants to find, also having
been made in Britain with the London logo on the back & the 'NPS2'
catalogue number [not the same printed sleeve as the UK mono/stereo
versions]. Includes the all important Japanese/lyric insert printed in
Japan with the "2,200" yen price & "(c)1968" date. This copy comes
with what may be one of the rarest obi-strips going; issued with no
back, this obi was easily discarded or lost and when questioned, a
Tokyo dealer informed us that whilst he had seen the occasional one
[he was older than the record!] they were very few and far between,
which is a shame as the font and design of this particular obi is
steeped in the Sixties and informs us that this is a limited release. See
'more info' for condition... NPS2)
Tracklisting: 01. Sing This All Together
02. Citadel
03. In Another Land
04. 2000 Man
05. Sing This All Together (See What Happens)
06. She’s A Rainbow
07. The Lantern
08. Gomper
09. 2000 Light Years From Home
10. On With The Show
Condition :-
The Japanese insert has just a little light age discolouration with the edges still keen; the inner has minimal with no tears or seam splits. The cover is Excellent with minimal shelf wear & few signs of wear to the 3D diffraction, and a small amount of laminate lift on the spine. The all-important obi as just a littlelight creasing, but nothing particularly severe with minimal discolouration and no tears; given its design, it's nothing short of remarkeable that it has survived in such an outstanding condition.
The labels have just a few light spindle marks, whilst the vinyl is strictly graded VG/VG+, with just a few light hairlines/scuffs just sitting on the surface. A seriously tough one to find for the Stones completist! |
