STEELY DAN The Very Best Of Steely Dan: Reelin' In The Years (1985 UK 18-track double LP featuring a digitally remastered collection of classic Steely hits including Do It Again, Rikki Don't Lose That Number, Pretzel Logic, Peg, Deacon Blues and more, gatefold picture sleeve. The sleeve shows just a little edge scuffing and the vinyl looks barely played DANTV1)

PRINCE Purple Rain (2020 UK/EU limited edition 9-track Picture Disc LP, a faithful reproduction of the rare original 1984 Mexican-only format, featuring the iconic image of Prince on the motorcycle featured in the Purple Rain movie. Housed inside a clear display sleeve with white screen-printed titles in English and new style Warner Records logo. Recommended)
#Top 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time

Tracklisting: Prince designed "Purple Rain" as the project that would make him a superstar, and surprisingly, that is exactly what happened. Simultaneously more focused and ambitious than any of his previous records, "Purple Rain" finds Prince consolidating his funk and R&B roots while moving boldly into pop, rock, and heavy metal with nine superbly crafted songs. Although Prince's songwriting is at a peak, the presence of the Revolution pulls the music into sharper focus, giving it a tougher, more aggressive edge. Even with all of his new, but uncompromising, forays into pop Prince didn't abandon funk. Taken together, all of the stylistic experiments add up to a stunning statement of purpose that remains one of the most exciting rock 'n' roll albums ever created. Side One 1. Let's Go Crazy 2. Take Me With U 3. The Beautiful Ones 4. Computer Blue 5. Darling Nikki Side Two 1. When Doves Cry 2. I Would Die 4 U 3. Baby I'm A Star 4. Purple Rain
VINCE CLARKE Songs Of Silence (2023 UK/EU limited edition 10-track LP pressed on heavyweight black vinyl, unbelievably his first ever solo album, a lyric-less instrumental album and hugely evocative for that. Unlike anything you’ve previouslyheard from Vince Clarke! Picture sleeve with hype sticker, factory sealed. Recommended STUMM500)

Tracklisting: As an artisan of dynamic electropop, (Erasure, Depeche Mode, Yazoo), Songs of Silence has about it a more sober ambient electronic beauty, its unique characteristics put it in a category of its own. For the creation of the record Vince set himself two rules – first that the sounds he himself generated for the album would come solely from Eurorack (a modular synthesizer format introduced in the mid-90s) and secondly that each track would be based around one note, maintaining a single key throughout. The resultant pieces, with the Eurorack sound clay then manipulated on Logic Pro, amount to wordless narratives, in which a sense of synth-generated, cosmic remoteness is often jolted by stark interventions, reminders of the human hand at work amid this machinery. This album sees Vince Clarke not content to rest on his considerable pop legacy, and instead open up for himself, and for the rest of us, exciting new electronic vistas in which the permutations and possibilities are limitless. Side A 1. Cathedral 2. White Rabbit 3. Passage 4. Imminent 5. Red Planet Side B 1. The Lamentations of Jeremiah 2. Mitosis 3. Blackleg 4. Scarper 5. Last Transmission
